Where is Kelingking Beach?

Located on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida, Kelingking Beach is by far the island’s most famous attraction. The cliffs surrounding the beach resemble a T-Rex, earning it the nickname “T-Rex Beach.” With a little imagination, you can see the outline of a dinosaur in the rock formations.

To reach the beach, you must descend a steep and rocky path, making for an intense hike that is not for the faint-hearted!

When planning your tours in Bali, make sure to add Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida to your itinerary.

How to Get There

From Sanur Harbor, you can take a fast boat to Nusa Penida, which takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, a driver will pick you up and take you to the famous Kelingking viewpoint.

If you want to reach the beach itself, you’ll need to hike down the cliff. The descent takes around 45 minutes to an hour, but the real challenge is the hike back up! Depending on your fitness level, it could take 2 to 3 hours. However, the effort is well worth it—once you reach the bottom, you’ll be greeted by an almost untouched beach with soft white sand and crystal-clear blue waters.

Best Photo Spot at Kelingking Viewpoint

Not a fan of intense hikes? No worries! The true beauty of Kelingking Beach can be admired from the top at Kelingking viewpoint, where you’ll get a jaw-dropping panoramic view.

This is also the best spot to capture that perfect Instagram shot! If you have the time, we highly recommend staying until sunset to witness the magical transformation of the landscape.
