Why You Should Visit Uluwatu Temple
One of Uluwatu’s most famous attractions, along with the Kecak Dance, the Uluwatu Temple is a Balinese Hindu sea temple located at the southernmost tip of the Bukit Peninsula.

The history of Uluwatu Temple dates back to at least the 11th century, and possibly even earlier. It was once thought to be a portal to heaven, and Balinese Hindus still consider it one of the most important temples on the island today.

How to Get There
Uluwatu Temple is located 30 kilometers south of Denpasar and is very easy to reach. Depending on traffic, the journey takes around 30-40 minutes. You can consider booking a tour or hiring a driver for the day if you plan to visit other attractions in the Uluwatu area.
Best Time to Visit
Like any other tourist attraction in Bali, arriving early means fewer crowds. However, for Uluwatu Temple, we suggest visiting in the afternoon and staying for sunset, as it is truly a magical experience.
Tips
– Visitors must wear a sarong and a sash, as well as appropriate clothing for temple visits.
– Beware of the monkeys! While they may be adorable and entertaining, they are also incredibly mischievous. Keep an eye on your smartphone when taking pictures and secure your sunglasses, water bottles, and other loose items in your bag.
– The monkeys love stealing slippers, so it’s best to wear sneakers or strapped sandals.
